Banamex Historical Archive

To safeguard, classify, preserve and spread the historical memory of the Banco Nacional de México, essential part of its Cultural and Historic Heritage. Opened its doors as of March 1991.

Banamex has been the first and only private bank to open the doors of its Heritage, which has been enriched with important collections of testimonials, to researchers and academicians.

Headquarters of the Historical Archive

Banamex's Historical Archive is located in the Mezzanine viceroyalty building, which in the Eighteenth Century was the majestic house of the Counts of San Mateo de Valparaíso and Marquises of Jaral de Berrio, located in the Historical Downtown in Mexico City.

This space has the appropriate conditions and measures to preserve and security of the historical documentation of Banco Nacional de México, which is safeguarded inside a vault to keep funds. Its metallic door was manufactured by the “Panzer Actiengesellschaft für Geldschrank Tresorbau und Eisen-Industrie", from Berlín.
